LitBuy fees and currency, seen from the perks

Coupons work on one line of the bill. This page lays out the other lines, the currency each is charged in, and which ones no perk ever reaches.

Help 42, 43 and the footer policies, read 16 October 2026.

The fee structure in LitBuy's words

Table of LitBuy's fee structure: item costs, international shipping, customs and small charges
LitBuy's cost lines from help 43 and related help articles, read 16 October 2026.

Help article 43 splits what an order costs into item costs (what the listing charges, plus the seller's delivery inside China to LitBuy), the international shipping fee (worked out from weight, shipping method and destination), and customs charges, where the customs declaration cost for a parcel is “generally RMB 10.00” depending on the method. Value-added services are optional extras. LitBuy says the purchasing service itself carries no service fee.

That last point is narrower than it sounds. There is no fee for buying on your behalf, but there are small charges elsewhere: a CNY 5 service fee on customer-reason returns, a rehearsal parcel at CNY 20, custom photos at 1 yuan each per LitBuy's help page, a per-parcel handling amount on most routes in the freight estimator, and storage fees after day 90.

The line coupons touch, and the lines they never touch

Table showing which bill lines coupons, points and levels apply to
Which programme touches which line, from LitBuy's coupon help, Points Rules and membership announcement.

Every coupon in LitBuy's public pool and on the banner is a shipping coupon, applied on the parcel submission page against the international shipping fee. Item prices, the domestic shipping inside China, customs charges, value-added services, return fees and storage fees sit outside its reach.

Points behave the other way round: they are earned on item and shipping spending but not on storage fees, insurance or value-added services, and not on the part a coupon covers. Levels count only international shipping. So a parcel's shipping line is where three programmes meet, and the other lines are where none of them help.

Compare the amount you will pay, not the size of the coupon

Build the budget from purchase costs through international delivery. Goods, domestic shipping and any buying charges come first; parcel freight, packing choices and applicable payment or destination charges follow. Check which specific line a coupon can reduce and whether the wallet offer meets the selected route, threshold and expiry requirements.

A larger coupon is not automatically the better deal if it requires unnecessary spending or a more expensive route. Compare the final payable amount for the same contents and service. If a freight estimate changes after packing, check how that affects the settlement and the coupon’s treatment. A public promotion entry is evidence of advertised terms at a time, not proof that your account holds a usable benefit.

Exchange rate and currency conversion

Card summarising LitBuy's currency and top-up rules
Top-up and conversion rules from help 23 and help 42, read 16 October 2026.

LitBuy charges in Chinese yuan and shows prices converted to the currency you pick. Help 42 says PayPal top-ups are converted in US dollars whatever currency your PayPal account uses, at a rate that follows the latest Bank of China rate and is adjusted from time to time; a top-up can take 1 to 60 minutes to arrive, and PayPal's billing address must match the parcel's address.

Help 23 lists card top-ups for Visa, Mastercard and Discover. International bank transfers carry bank fees paid by the sender, which LitBuy gives as 0.1% plus USD 2.5 for Hong Kong local transfers and 0.1% plus USD 7 for others. Balance and gold-coin payments carry no handling fee, according to LitBuy's payment cards. LitBuy does not publish a percentage fee for card or PayPal payments, so we do not print one.

Refunds return to where the money came from

Two-column card of LitBuy refund routes and amounts that may not be refunded
Refund Terms read 16 October 2026.

LitBuy's Refund Terms send refunds only back to the original payment method: no cash, offline transfers, other people's cards or third-party PayPal accounts. LitBuy's own review takes 3 to 7 business days and the bank or payment provider 5 to 10 more. Cancelled items and compensation go to your LitBuy balance instead.

Certain amounts may not come back at all: international shipping, service fees, payment processing fees, duties and taxes, and services already carried out such as purchasing, storage or handling. A coupon is not money and is not listed among refundable items, and help 11 says coupons cannot be extended past their end date.

Charges that arrive later

Sequence of LitBuy charges that can follow payment: weight recalculation and storage
Later charges in order, from help 33 and the storage policy.

Two charges can appear after you have paid. Shipping is prepaid on an estimated weight; once packed, LitBuy recalculates on the chargeable weight. Help 33 says any shortfall must be paid, and an overpayment of more than one billing unit comes back as LitBuy wallet balance no later than 72 hours after the parcel leaves. Storage fees start on day 91 after an item is stocked.

Neither is touched by a coupon, and storage fees earn no points. If a parcel will use a coupon, build it before day 90 so a storage fee does not sit beside a discount that cannot reach it.

A rehearsal parcel (CNY 20, per help 07) lets LitBuy pack and weigh first so you see the real chargeable weight before paying for the route; like every other small charge, no shipping coupon applies to it.
